International Literacy Day
Scholars of Sant Nirankari Public School, Nirankari Colony conducted a special assembly on 6th September’2019, Friday to commemorate International Literacy Day. Respected Principal, Dr. Sarita Pande commenced the assembly with a prayer to reiterate that literacy is not a luxury but a Human Right and stressed on the motto of “Each One Teach One”. Assembly progressed with an elaborative and a thought provoking speech by Yash of class VII. He used worldwide data concerning literacy rate and apprised every one of the positive consequences of literacy.
A beautiful rendition of a Hindi poem by Ayshav of class VIII enlightened everyone with the importance and need of literacy. Taking this informative assembly forward, the students of class VI-IX performed a “Nukkad Natak”. The remarkable enactment of the participants filled the air with energy. A new initiative of creating book corners in primary classes to enhance reading skills was also announced.
