World Cleanliness Education Award
Sant Nirankari Public School, Nirankari Colony, firmly believes to carry forward the task of being consciously aware of our existence as a thread within the whole web called Nature, thus enforcing the fact that Cleanliness is the way to be healthy, wealthy and wise and so “it’s a habit nice, without paying heavy price”.
In lieu of the same, it was a great day for the SNPS FAMILY as we were awarded the prestigious “World Cleanliness Education Award” in the World Cleanliness Convention, 2016 at the India International Centre, Lodhi Estate, Delhi on 12th December, 2016.
The faculty members namely, Ms. Ranjana Grover, Ms. Sarabjeet , Ms. Himangini, Ms. Pooja Bhasin along with the students; Mayank( Head Boy 2016-17 ), Pallavi( Head Girl 2016-17), Kartik( Head Boy 2017-18 ), and Harshita( Head Girl 2017-18 ), were fortunate to be nominated for the programme.
The main sponsor of the convention was Jamia Hamdard, a Deemed university at Delhi. The convention also highlighted Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, Diplomats, learned Ambassadors and High Commissioners. The Chief Guest, Ms. Anupriya Patel, the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, urged for a need to shift from curative to preventive care and congratulated the teachers and students for emerging as active agents to make India cleaner and greener. She released the Swachchhta Vishwakosh Publication and was felicitated with the “Young and Dyanamic Minister Award”. This was followed by a brief overview of Cleanliness Awareness by Diplomats and Official representatives from different countries along with the addresses by the Chancellors,Vice Chancellors, Presidents and Other Functionaries of various Universities from India on the Theme “Clean Up the Earth” and “Waste is Wealth”.
Out of 3500 schools of NCR, only 60 schools were selected for receiving accolades for their contribution towards promoting cleanliness education. Our school received this prestigious award on the basis of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation related work done within the school campus.
This award is indeed an added feather in the cap of our school and has instilled a zeal amongst the students and the faculty to continue to participate in such programmes.
