Self Defense Training Campaign
“Self Defense is not just a set of techniques; it’s a state of mind”
With an aim to instill life skills such as strong sense of safety, instinct and awareness and prepare the young girls for any unexpected situations, SNPS, Nirankari Colony, Delhi, organized the Self Defence Training Campaign (a 15 Day Campaign) in the school premises from 8th April to 26th April, 2019 in collaboration with the Delhi Police.
The enterprise comprised of spirited students (girls) from Classes VI to XII. Ms. Anita Yadav, Constable, Parivartan Cell, Delhi spearheaded this campaign. She taught the girls, self-defence techniques like punch, kick, block, temple attack, hand grip, hair grip, neck grip etc. on a regular basis. Also, the Head Constables- Ms. Shashi and Ms. Meena delivered lectures on the same issue in addition to discussions about various problems faced by the girls on a daily basis. The participants whole heartedly coordinated with the Delhi Police Volunteers and were overwhelmed to hear that they would be given certificates for this training too.
